abstract
many researchers and experts have emphasized on the importance of confidence in society; urban management and in particular, municipality as one of the largest social organizations could be more effective and productive in the case of gaining the trust of citizens as social and intellectual capital and use it in the organizational goals and urban development the main issue addressed in this research is the confidence of tehran citizens in urban management area(managers and employees of municipality and tehran municipality performance).in this respect this issue is important that for organizations such as municipality trust and confidence of citizens -as consumers of municipal services- to the respective organization, managers, employees and its performance could have effect on the extent of their participation in public affairs and lead to urban management improvement and effectiveness. the research statistical population includes citizens over than 18 years living in tehran. a sample size of 400 is determined using cochran formula; the samples have chosen form 22 zones of tehran proportional to each area population applying cluster sampling. the dependent variable in this research is tehran citizen’s confidence in tehran urban management, the overall research results show that the extent of tehran citizen’s trust toward tehran urban management is lower than average. the results also show that the accountability of municipality,normative unity in respected organization, corporate/organizational transparency in municipality are the most important factors that would positively change tehran citizen’s confidence.
